Here is the simple text of the conversation for confirming someone for the GYE community:

Hi, I'm calling from GuardYourEyes to confirm you for the GYE phone community. Is your username ?

Yes? Ok great, we just have to make sure that anyone who we give access to other people's numbers is legitimate.

We'll approve you for the GYE phone community. You will now be able to see other people's numbers, and they will be able to see yours. Make sure to use this important resource to reach out to others for chizuk when feeling weak.

Hatzlacha Raba!
Dear Sonoftheking,

Thank you for your warm words, and thank you for bringing up this important nekudah. I think that the answer to this dilemma lies in the derech ha'memutza. On the one hand, it is important for those who are sharing to be able to be open and honest about it. And for those who are reading the posts, it's important for them to see that they are not alone in this insanity. On the other hand, being TOO open is dangerous and can be triggering to the people here.

So we try to be very careful on GYE not to post anything that could give anyone new ideas that they had not known before. (However if you are on this site, you obviously know the basic struggle and the things discussed here are not going to be mechadesh anything to you).

Therefore, let me ask everyone to please be careful not to post anything triggering. If you do see such a post, please report it to the mods immediately. (Sonoftheking, feel free to send an e-mail to gye.help@gmail.com with any examples of posts that you think may be "too open" in your opinion).

Yasher Koach.
Wow, I just saw this now. You are giving us a lot of Nachas.

Stories like yours are encouraging to us all and give us the strength to continue!

Tip: Make sure to figure out what led to the fall and see what new fences you can put up to prevent it happening again. In this way, you will be uplifting the fall to Kedusha!
The best way to make the TaPHSiC Shavuah is by using the Nussach we set up on page 3 of this article: guardyoureyes.com/articles/tips-suggestions/item/the-taphsic-method-made-simple?category_id=18
On GYE we don't focus so much on the aveira, because that doesn't help much in addictions. Instead, we need to realize that we are not BAD people getting GOOD, but rather SICK people who need to get WELL. So while this might seem like it's minimizing the aveirah, this should never be a reason to fall. Chazal say:
חמירא סכנתא מאיסורה
Sakana is more stringent than Issur.
We need to realize that this will destroy our lives and kill us, if we don't stay sober - just for today.
That's why on the chizuk e-mails we encourage people to get back up and not wallow in guilt. Because it's not ABOUT GUILT. It's about realizing how SICK we are and how DANGEROUS this is.

I hope that clarifies a bit.
When users sign up to join the GYE phone community (in the partner program), we get an e-mail with their number. We don't confirm them (and allow them to see everyone else's numbers) before calling them to make sure the number they provided is legitimate.

I am looking for a volunteer who is willing to call the numbers. It really does not involve a lot of work, it's an average of 3-4 sign ups a week, and each call takes only a moment.

If you are interested in helping with this, please contact me at eyes.guard@gmail.com.

Thank you!
