So, I'm back.
I guess.
Was I even gone? Who decided that? Have I failed to respond to a single PM? Was anyone actually looking for me and couldn't get in touch with me? I think not.
I was just enjoying my "non-sobriety" off of the forum. It's pretty annoying and time/emotion consuming to post another sob story about porn and masturbation every day or so.
But now that I'm "back" (wutever), I will share with the good folks here that I will probably act out today. Perhaps I will do it without guilt (been working on that). And then, perhaps, I will get on with my day. For the record, I did not masturbate yesterday. I don't think I did the day before, either. Why? It's as much of a mystery to me as anyone.

Wishing you all a great, calm, serene, productive, sober (if that's what you want) day.

Ok, welcome not back.
I was worried a little about you at some point, guilty as charged, but not recently, actually not since I saw you at that event.
It is indisputable that you stopped posting for a while which is perfectly fine if that works for you. However some of us missed your posts, just like I would/do miss posts from other forum members whose opinions I value (or who have entertainment value). I will redact my welcome to pertain specifically to your posting on the forum.
Feel free to have a wutever day if that's what you want.

Stillgoing, I can understand why you ask before you voice your opinion because you might get this:

But you shouldn't be afraid to voice your opinion, ever.

neshamaincharge, you are absolutely right. I just used a poor choice of words.

MayanHamisgaber, you are the one that helped me the most, you made me look back at my old posts, I seemed like a spunky, full of positive energy kind of guy and now I seem like a cold intellectual full of complaints. The post about happiness really moved me. If it worked for me then, it should probably work for me now.

My apologies.

No need to apologize, you should also voice your opinion.

Aiight, here goes.
Granted, I responded in a rude way, and could have simply challenged Mr. Mesayin by dredging up some stats of married/single GYE users and I could have taken a poll of how many users who are now married thought that they would be finished with this issue once they married, because thier problem wasn't severe enough for it to possibly continue into marriage and once they had a spouse to take care of their physical/emotional needs everything would be great, and I could have turned it into a philosophical discussion about whether we are honest with ourselves blah blah blah.
But I didn't.
Why?
Because I am hurt.
Not really hurt to the extent that I hold anything against Mr. Mesayin, who is a great guy whose posts I love reading.
But hurt enough that my knee jerk reaction to his assumption that marriage will solve his problem (I know he didn't say that, but I'm just interpreting) was to bristle.
Who does he think he is to say that? Didn't I say the same thing when I was a bochur? Does he mean to imply he is better than me? Impossible! To say such a thing would be an indictment of my character. My character does not like being indicted.
So, if anyone was hurt by my comments, I didn't mean offense. I just needed to remind you that I'm better than you.
Sorry for the ramble, but you did ask for my opinion.

I do have filters on my computer at home, but cannot have them installed at work. I am b"h in a stage where I would not jeopardize my job by watching NSFW materials at work.

The reason I didn't mention that as part of the plan is because although I have watched p***, that is not really my major issue.
I am primarily focused on clearing my thoughts from fantasies about real people and putting an end to my m**** habit/addiction(jury's still out on which one it is).

The websites I was referring to above are ones that are purportedly not for the express purpose of promoting the objectification of women e.g., news, business, etc. I feel that in a way, these are easier to stay away from voluntarily, because the yetzer hara to "sneak" onto forbes.com is not that strong.

Thanks for the ideas, shivisi. Clean today on this plan so far, so I'll let you know if I make any tweaks.

Regarding your ma'amar chazal at the bottom, I heard recently that the difference between a "Ba L'Taher" and a "Ba L'Tamei" is "M'sayin Lo" v. "Poschin Lo." The difference is that one who wants to be Tahor needs help from outside - a siyua - like the gemara says "Ain chavush matir atzmo mibais ha'assurim." Whereas someone who wants to be Tamei only needs a Pesach - Hashem gives him a door R"L and he walks through it all alone.
That's why these forums are so awesome.

Where is that vort from please?

II have some unanswered questions.

Points to ponder:
Did everyone (you all know who you are) disappear to the "secret forum?"
Has it really been 3+ years since I posted on this thread?
Do any of the links in my signature still work?
Does this "autosave" that keeps popping up as I type prevent the age old problem of long posts disappearing into cyberspace?
Did anyone/everyone think I stopped reading every post on the forum?
How many more days of not posting after this post will it take @grant400 to ask if I'm still here?
Is anyone else still as bummed out about @pickamoniker as I am?
How is everyone doing?

Hey! A blast from the ancient past! Us new guys who learn all of the old threads like it's the bible really respect you elderly chaps. Um, excuse me- you have some cobwebs on the left shoulder of your tweed smoking jacket. Yeah, next to the hanky...yea it's off now.

It's always great to converse with one of the founding fathers. Most have gone their merry (hopefully) way, hanging out in the "Secret Forum Society", forgetting about the freshmen who can use their guidance and experience in this ageless uphill battle.

How's it going? Now that you revealed your centennial presence you can be sure that @Grant won't let you leave us leaderless once again. Maybe you can even energize Rabeinu Cordnoy Shlit"a. He usually only exits his igloo to make a "maacha", ice fishing or to warm his frigid eskimo bones with a big tumbler of bourbon.

About that autosave thingy. It's definitely a valiant attempt to correct the old problem you brought up. It was indeed a common problem back in the times of your president, Mr. Polk. Many moons before President Grant. Its an added feature lobbied for by the #Equestrian lives matter organization in both houses and was passed with bipartisanship because it was a severe problem and was causing many people in your time to spend to much time retyping and ignore their chores. The horses weren't being watered and fed properly.

All jokes aside it's great to see an old member around.

So! How's it going Grandpa? Sorry...couldn't resist...okay I'll be serious from now on.
