I'm not sure where to post this because it is in regards to SSA which I do not have a problem with B"H.  I have loads of other things to worry about, but SSA is not one of them.

However, I heard something on a Dr. Sorotzkin MP3 about it that I thought was interesting.  He says, that contrary to popular thought, there is no evidence that it's cause is genetic or biological.  Until the gay rights groups took over, he says that it was well documented that SSA is caused by a person not developing a proper gender identity.  Most often because of a distant/cold father and an over controlling mother.

I don't want to start a controversial topic.  I just thougth that it might help some people.  So pleeeeease don't use this thread to debate the topic.  I am curious if some of the people dealing with SSA identify with what Dr Sorotzkin said.

Hi Gibbor,

I can relate to that totally and completely. the factors you describe, plus being extremely shy and feeling isolated/"left out" as a child/teenager were the "perfect storm" for me.

I know you've seen my thread, but I will link it here for the newbies:

And here's another great thread on the subject:

Thanks for weighing in.  So I have 2 people on this site so far (one told me by email) that identify with what he says.

I just find it amazing how much we (me included, maybe at the head), as frum yidden accept from the media as truth.  We try and defend the Torah without realizing that the whole thing is liberally driven narrishkeit in the first place.  The Torah does not need our apologies.

I am friends with more than a handfull of guys who are either openly gay or closeted (and may or may not be fighting it), and from what I gathered, each one of them didn't have a strong father in their life, and each one had a very strong female (mother, grandma, etc) bring them up.

I harbor a fear that my sons will be gay because I was too dependent on my wife and too wimpy. It is a fear I need to let go of, but I thought it appropriate to share here.

After all, we are all honest with eachother here on our little island of near-sanity. Right?

THanks.

I just thought of a chiddush in the expression "go with the flow".  It usually means to not take things too seriously and just let things happen.

I'd like to give it a different spin (in honor of Chanukah )

Rav Dessler (I think) explains that מזל actually comes from the word נוזל which means to flow.  We think of מזל as "luck", but really it "flows" down to us from above by devine decree.  We can use the expression "go with the flow" to mean accept Hashems will for us.  Going with the "flow" from on high so to speak, rather than trying to control our circumstances and fight against what Hashem has decreed for us.

I don't know where these ideas come from.... I guess sometimes they just pop into "flow" into my head .
