even though people think that they must wait in line and stay up to the wee hours to eat pizza on motzei Pesach

i checked all 613 and they did not mention this 'obligation'

It is known that the Vilna Gaon was makpid to buy beer from a goy on motzei Acharon shel Pesach to make havdoloh to show that the only reason he didn't eat chometz for the last 8 days was only because Hashem said not to.

He also was so holy that the mere sound of the shoes of the women walking outside his window disturbed his learning.

So if you are waiting in line to buy the first post-Pesach pizza and you are struggling with sight of the fully dressed woman in front of you it does not necessarily mean you are a crazed sex addict, you might just be on a very high madreiga after a week of yom tov.

If you eat the pizza the same way that the Vilna Gaon ate his bread then you know who you really are.

I thought mitzvah number 614 was getting the chometz out of the electric outlets.

My wife was worried that there might be some crumbs left over in the oven (that gets sold to the goy!).

So I feigned shock, and asked her if she really was planning on baking matzos mitzvah there...

When I saw a thread about Mitzvah #614, I thought it was referring to the nervous approach to Pesach cleaning

Make sure to keep on smiling!

Chometz = Chamutz = Sour

And if the Rebbitzen gets burnt out -send her shopping!

(Even if you can't afford it, it's cheaper than a psychologist and probably more effective!)

BTW -The heilige Imrei Chaim (whose yahrzeit is/was today 9 Nissan) couldn't stand that phenomenon of people rushing to get chametz...

In fact, he and many other tzaddikim and chassidim were makpid that the first chametz should be an achilah shel mitzvah, for instance the kezayis challah by the Friday night meal. Now, if Pesach falls out like this year, that may not be so difficult -but how about the years when acharon shel pesach runs into a Shabbos! Then it's a real kuntz!

The Divrei Chaim of Tzanz though, and his descendants, have a custom like BB brought down from the Gra. They would make havdalah on beer that had been sold to a Goy, to demonstrate that the mechiras chametz is 100% valid.

The Gra did not sell beer to a goy. He bought beer that had always been owned by a goy.

I didn't mean that the minhag was the same in that sense, I just meant that they made havdalah on beer -which means that they had chametz right after pesach without delay.

This is supposed to be part of the Just Having Fun thread, not the Chassidim Discussing Minhag Hagra Thread. Each post is supposed to start with the words "There is no such thing as Mitzvah 614..."

Watch, Ill show you:

There is no such thing as Mitzvah 614, so why do people read the Megilah on Purim?

Get it?

There is no such thing as Mitzvah 614, so why do I feel a need to post in this thread?  ;D

Yosef, if you post in this thread i will enter you into an imaginary raffle for the first pie of pizza on motzei shavuos

since my joke thread has taken a serious turn (a severe infraction by the way, tsk tsk tsk) i will share a relevant vort.

if you add mitzvos to the 613, making it 614, תריד, that may lead to p'rikas ol...

כל המוסיף גורע
Hashem commanded Adam and Chava not to eat from the Eitz hadaas, but the Nachash came along and said that Hashem said not to touch the tree, and then proceeded to push Chava into the tree, saying, "see, nothing happened when you touched it so nothing will happen if you eat from it as well"

about posting jokes, i think you are mixing me up with someone else...  :-\ : ??? > ;D :D

the pizza was good, the timing was a little off. i don't think pizza was designed to be eaten on a stomach full of matza, eggs and potatoes at 1am.
