I forgot what I wanted to say......

3 minutes later: Oh yeh, bard about your post!    You hit it on the nail. check out this stikel from my sefer:
shemirateinayim wrote on 11 Jan 2010 16:26:

R shimshun pinkus brings from the zohar. That in the Ikvasah Dimeshicha (the final period b4 mashiach) the world will be a "vaad Liznus".

cool, no? If only it had some more meaning. The translation of Vaad, is an 'asifas chchamim' an gathering of men of intellect, for the furthering of intellectual pursuits. Yes, i know that this makes a humorous defenition, but give me a second to show you the truth in it.
In our current day and age, the advancements in technology are so fast paced, that few things are thought of as impossible. It is merely a matter of time until someone writes the software, or increases the efficiency of existent hardware. There still remains a vibrant industry in technologies outside of the entertainment center, primarily focused on improving productivity. But the single greatest feild of scientific advancement is entertainment. TV VIDEO, INTERNET, ELECTRONICS you name it. And people are so caught-up in the pursuit of these, that everyone takes issue with the "uselessness" of NASA.  Are we crazy, the great advances that they have achieved in the study of astrology dwarfs anythinng that secular science has ever known. The advent of telescopes, the hubble included, shame our previous way that we have related to them as mere "constellations". today we can see their colors hues shapes and movements. and in vivid color!
Yet despite all this, many people see these studies as a waste of money. The reason behind this, is that we DON'T CARE about a Vaad for sciences, since all we desire is a VAAD LEZNUS. We want to see our greatest minds and talent give us a reason to laugh and smile, and feel the thrill of znus. Whether it be in dirty jokes, vivid videos of celebs or merely watching actors portray their "bedside manners". We see this as the single greatest goal that science can attribute to.

This is the mindset of our generation, as delineated in the ZOHAR in the time of R Shimon Bar Yochai.

Says reb Elchono people are naturally maaminim but but

It called a conscious

Aha I can silence that

I ask questions

Chevra,

Breaking news!  Boruch Hashem, it keeps getting better!  The Rosh Yeshiva has added a paragraph to his Haskama, which explicitly approves of the GYE website for those who need it!  The new text is in blue.

בס"ד י' שבט תש"ע
January 25, 2010

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

There is an international scourge attacking the Jewish People: this is the widespread addiction of men to pornography. Fueled mainly by the Internet, but no less by other means of communication such as telephone and DVDs, this scourge threatens to tear apart the fabric of Jewish life and undermine one of its major foundations, that of tzenius (moral restraint).

This addiction has spared no class of Jews: from teenagers to kollel members, from office workers to Rabbis, and from single to married men. I have seen personal lives ruined and marriages wrecked because of this relentless temptation.

A single individual has undertaken to stem this tide of destruction, despite the personal and financial strain which this entails. This is the anonymous administrator of the program known as “Guard Your Eyes.” By utilizing methods which have proved successful in treating other addictions, and by providing constant encouragement, support and strategies to victims, “Guard Your Eyes” has successfully helped wean hundreds, if not thousands, from pornographic addiction and has helped return them to normal life.

I have seen the materials and handbooks which this program distributes and have only praise for its methodology and approach to the problems of the addicts. Everything which I have seen conforms to the highest standards of Torah values.

I have been told by reliable people that the Internet program of the same name follows the same standards. Even though Rabbinical authorities have forbidden the use of Internet except where one’s livelihood depends on it, it is my opinion that someone who suffers from this addiction may avail himself of this program, since ridding oneself of this illness is no less vital than earning a living.

I therefore highly recommend anyone who suffers from this problem to avail himself of all aspects of this effective program.

“Guard Your Eyes” is worthy of the encouragement and financial support of every Jew.

May HKBH grant its administrator the wisdom, the strength and the means to continue this holy work, and may it help return the Jewish People to becoming a nation regarding whom it is written, והתקדשתם והייתם קדושים (“Sanctify yourselves and you shall then be holy”).

With deep respect,

Aharon Feldman

For some reason I assumed the whole time his haskama was referring to the GYE site. I mean, how else does one access the GuardYourEyes program if not through the internet?

The original Haskama did not explicitly mention the GYE site, but referred to other tools, such as the handbooks.  However, anyone who would Google "Guard Your Eyes" would find the site immediately, so I wasn't too worried.

The updated Haskama appears now on the website over here. (Higher resolution link at the bottom)...

I sent a letter of thank you to Rav Feldman:

Dear Rav Feldman,

Thank you so very much for the heartfelt Haskama on our work - and now on the website too. [Kedusha] is not one to give up easily (to say the least), and I greatly appreciate the Rosh Yeshiva's patience in writing up the letter, making the corrections, and even writing up a new one now which mentions the website too. Hopefully this Haskama will help bring in more support from other Gedolim, and financial support as well, so we can grow and reach ever more Yidden. The plague of Internet addiction is by far the most destructive force today in Klal Yisrael. Everyone is crying out against the Internet (which is here to stay whether we like it or not) but NO ONE is doing anything concrete in the Orthodox community for those who have already fallen in. And the younger generations stand almost no hope NOT to fall in! (As I told the Rosh Yeshiva on the phone about the Rebbe of 11 to 14 years olds in Baltimore who claims that many of them are already addicted, r"l).

Our organization is the only one in Klal Yisrael today addressing this need. And as much as we do, it is just a drop in the ocean. We need to raise funds to open a center that will have a whole web-development department for our multiple websites, forums and hundreds of articles, and a publishing department for books and pamphlets (off-line). I already have enough material on our site for 15-20 books. And we want to have a PR department to spread the word and network with professionals and Askanim and Rabbanim, as well as a whole "prevention department" to address the need to educate the Mechanchim of this generation in the methods of prevention and treatment.

Our work was mentioned twice at the recent Agudah conventions by Phillip Rosenthal. Rav Zweibel asked Phillip about our work as well.. Hundreds of stories come in all the time about people who's lives have been turned around through our work. We desperately need the financial support of Klal Yisrael so we can meet the demand, which gets bigger by the day. So thank you once again for your help, and if the Rosh Yeshiva knows any wealthy Nedivim who may seriously appreciate the work we are doing, it would be a tremendous help if the Rosh Yeshiva could suggest them to us, or make a phone call to this person.

I thought the Rosh Yeshiva might enjoy today's Chizuk e-mail, so I am sending it below. (#692 - Rav Noach's Yartzeit)

With great thanks and respect,

Yaakov.

Wherever WE send it? Like what do you mean? I know a Haskamah of a Sefer goes in the Sefer, so this just stays on the website? Or does the Rav send it out to the Oylam?

If the Rav has the courage, he can send it out to his entire membership.
