i have open youTube in work and i sometimes download some stuff, usally yiddish music videos and some other classics like mansion tours or yacht tours, but i wish i could have it closed it's such a time waster and sometimes i searched for explicit stuff, i cant add a filter myself, i'm not the network admin, and my boss thinks he has a filter but in fact its nothing more then a "unsafe websites blocker, you could do anything on it,

Some people here told me that i need to ask a sheila from a Ruv if i could continue to work here, i'm ashamed to ask my boss and he will just get mad (if i would speak to him i would rather ask for a raise before)

I read your post and I truly believe that being open with your boss in a cleaver way will help you eventually gain a raise.
When your boss will understand that you care for the time you get paid and you would like him to restrict your internet acces in a way that wont affect your job, he will look up to you.

i read in the Mishpacha Magazine last week about an extension on google called "613Tube" which removes all ads, coments, and all other vidio suggestions, and also inappropiate vidios, you can can only search by name or URL, not just open youtube and just browse around the site

I'm not a techie i don't know if its works on the youtube app or on certain phones, if someone knows more about it is inveted to share with everyone

wow this thread is genius, everything written on this thread so far is gold. People don't realize how youtube is destroying our lives, especially our richniyus, besides being a great time waster.
I tried so many times to quit masturbation but kept on falling, mostly from first watching "kosher" videos on youtube but like everyone knows it lead me down so many times to masturbation and porn.
I am now 10 days without going on youtube, it has been the best 10 days of my life, I fam so much more productive, a better husband and better jew.
It has not been easy to resist the temptation of youtube, the other day I wanted to go on youtube to stream the superbowl on youtube ( i love football) but I knew it was worth the sacrifice.

I would suggest using the Netfree filter which I use. They go through all youtube videos requested and only allow it if there's no women in it. See the 2 links for more info about the filter. they block vidoes that they think its unappropiate, but in Chabad (tube613 is Chabad thing) is looking on woman a normal think they are in a lot 'Jewish' music videos, but its a small Bandaid on the problem, its doesn't fix the root of it

If there are other workers there, you may suggest to the boss that it is great he has a filter set up, but staff are still wasting too much time and he should consider getting a better filter to help everyone focus and do more work better.

For yourself - you can not install apps on the device?

You can tell your boss that you were telling someone else to get a better filter and they said that you should too, and if you will, they will, or something...

You took a good approach however talking to my boss feels super akward and i'm not comforable to talk with him about this now, also installing apps is not an option becouse it will need a password to install from my manager, but using "BlockSite Extension" works best for me, i blocked twitter and wikipedia and in the begining i was still finding lupeholes to crawl into twitter (and i could uninstall it in a sec but i knew its not good for me) but now after sevaral weeks I dont even crave to go on this website full of shmutz and p**n,
