Rank goes by the number of posts you made. Other GYE members can add to or subtract from your karma. According to Google, karma is a measure of your contribution, credibility and overall standing in the community based on what you posted. I think I received most of my karma for validating and protecting others on the forum as needed and some of my karma for being vulnerable about my unique situation and how I dealt with it. If members subtract my karma it means that they strongly disapprove of what I posted. People who are more familiar with social media can tell you more about karma and how it works.
