The was a ‘CRACK’! And he appeared, about 5 feet above the pavement in the littered parking lot, and with a muffled curse he fell, narrowly missing a Tesla. 

Twas the third time he had suddenly appeared, when the location had been mentioned in passing. Each time driving swiftly to deliver a much needed hug. 

The bearhug was almost harsh. Powerful, infused with genuine caring and concern, tempered with warmth, and with an added touch of patented, good-natured lunacy.

A year and a half ago.
The day I restarted my count.

Today is day 500. That's 500 (!!) days without watching porn or masturbating. When I fell then, it was also after a decently long streak of being out of the gutters. Yet right now I feel much more confident and comfortable about myself. Much has changed between my most recent fall and the one that was the time before that. When I was clean previously, at least partially it was because I was white-knuckling through some urges. All I needed was one giant nuclear powered urge to come after a very stressful few days full of nuclear powered urges, and the YH stamped on my fingers as I was hanging onto the cliff edge. Which equaled a very ungraceful tumble down into the rocky abyss.

But I have something now that I didn't have then. You see, although I had opened a GYE account when my wife first caught me, I didn't really do much with it, besides read and read and read. Possibly that is what helped me white knuckle for such a long time , but it was far from being enough. So I fell.

But then I got active and I started posting, talking on the phone and meeting some truly special people. People that have held my hand through some trying times. People that are holding my hand right now through some pretty trying times. And I know how much  they really care.

 So you'll ask, what's the difference now and then?
Between fall and fall?

Now I harnessed the power of GYE, The friends of GYE ,to help me become the person I want to be.

And to be fair one of those close friends sent me the following , that i should use this as my day 500 post .
