Dear folks,

My anonymous name is powerless, how do you do?

i am a member of SA for a few years now, and i am trying out the forum to see if it will add me another resource for now. I'm in a rough place right now, and am trying to put it all together.
I may continue here or not, will have to see how it plays out.

I am a therapist by profession and know alot about addiction in general, modalities, and the 12 steps. I heard of some pretty rediculous arguments going on here, like if CBT is better than 12 steps or not, which is inane and moot, because neither are exclusive of one another and actually compliment each other really well; in fact, 12 step literature openly says how it has no monopoly whatsovever on anything else and has no "outside" issues. Anyhow, my point with that is that i am coming here to receive some extra support for now, but perhaps i may bring to the table a bit of my own knowledge, provided i place humility first, like it says in the 12 and 12; and if i can do a bit of "12 stepping" then fine, and if not, then not.

My main obstacle to serenity right now is that my life has somehow become overly busy and complicated, and having no time for my onw self i have slowly ceased to work the steps as much as well as other recovery things that i need.

I am upping the ante by adding more meetings, chatting with my sponsor this week about it, and perhaps blogging here a bit.

We are doing better and better since we are on GYE

We are happy with any new member joining our club. Everyone here is respected, we feel privileged to have a professional like you joining us. You will without doubt contribute a lot to our Forums by sharing your personal and professional experience with us and by that helping yourself by practicing the 12th step. And you will probably even get smarter here, as we all do.

Don’t pay attention to some silly comments or discussions. In a Forum already containing a couple of thousand pages with a hundreds of members that’s just subsidiary, most of the discussions here are serious and focused to the point.

BTW, what are wrong eating green eggs?  I didn’t get the topic
