I'm new at GYE. I've begin struggling with a pornography addiction for the past 6 years. I have followed a pattern of going through a few months of abstinence, only to fall again... and again... and again...
Recently, I met the girl of my dreams. We've been going out for about 3 months.
3 weeks ago, I decided to tell her about my issue. Although it was really difficult to disclose, I didn't want a relationship full of deceit.
She took it pretty hard, understandably. But she's willing to fight alongside me...
I'm taking the extra step now, going on GYE forums, and perhaps participate in some meetings.
I really need this to work- for myself and my relationship.

It's always good to see when someone realizes his problem and admits his addiction. Thats the first step to recovery! I want to encourage you that you are not alone in this war but you have all of GYE on your side and most of all you have HASHEM.

What i can tell you from personal experience is that having a girlfriend ... is tricky, risky and dangerous! You have to know her very well to devote yourself to her and most importantly she has to be commited to do G-d's will because you dont want to get a secular girlfriend (believe me when i say this, i speak from experience, find my first post, it's all written there).
