With all due respect to Kedusha and Tomim, and with even more due respect to Letakein, I would like to ask if the women on the call please do not speak up. I do not think it would be healthy for the men to hear young girls on the line.

(It is different in SA groups, which are for those who really hit bottom).

I think the girls on the line can benefit at least 90% of what they could benefit if they would speak up.. So for the 10% they may be losing, it's not worth the risk of being a trigger to the other guys on the line. Also, the guys may be more reluctant to express themselves as openly as they should, if they know (hear) that there are girls/women on the line.

I hope I'm not being too strict here, but these are my personal feelings... Does anyone disagree?

I don't disagree to your point considering that these girls have been on the forum for months and an emotional connection could easily be/have been sparked between us. I don't think we'd care much about hearing the voice of any random girl and that wouldn't trigger us as much. I, as a person who hasn't hit rock bottom, can only speak for myself though: The fact that there are women (speaking) on the line doesn't bother me in any way. The reason for my apprehension in not adding to the conversation has nothing to do with them. Mainly I don't want to chew up valuable time which has been designated towards covering the material within 13 weeks. In the meantime, if what I have to say isn't really important, I'll speak only when spoken to.

You're right. I can't read about their "issues", even more so to hear about them. That would be way triggering! But than again, who's discussing "issues"? Aside from the fact that they have been very good about not discussing the details of their struggle on the forum in respect for us, the group is devoted to correcting our character, our view on lust, and our perspective on life. It's that which we discuss. I mean, one thing is to hear their stories - past and present. But that's not what we're talking about now. This is about them joining in the general discussion.

Guard, should i not announce myself at all. i'm not going to be on every day necessarily so noone will assume i'm on at any given call. so everyone can get rid of all reservations i might cause. i totally want what's best for the klal and am more than willing to help out by being quiet.
just so you know, i asked duvid chaim about this before i spoke up and he had a different opinion than you. Did you discuss it with him?

I spoke to Duvid Chaim about this very briefly while chatting with him on the phone tonight. He is of the opinion that women should not speak up in discussion. He explained that this is in accordance to the guidance of R' Twersky as are the rules of the forum. He also asked that members of the group read his email titled "1) a "Share" and 2) GYE Guidelines for Forums, Chats and Calls; for both Men and Women". He indicated, that if any women would like to share, discuss, or ask questions, they are welcomed to call him personally after the meetings (or any time throughout the day).
