I'm tired of making endless resolutions to change only to slip at the end of the week.

I'm going to put my money where my mouth is.  If I can guard my eyes between now and May 9th (Mother's Day), I will donate $500 to guardyoureyes.org.

But if I slip by intentionally looking at P between now and May 9th, I will donate $500 to the anti-Semitic hate site [moderator's note: web address removed - see below]

That may sound crazy, but I have simply gotten too complacent in this battle.  I have not made any real progress in over a year, and I need to shake myself out of my comfort zone.

Not sure if this is the way to go or not - but definitely deserving of kudos for willingness to take drastic measures.
Perhaps a 500$ donation to a hated politician like _________________ would have worked also.

why not something stupid like political campaigns. or why not withdraw 500 singles from the bank...and burn them one at a time (I do believe it's a federal offense). Or why not donate it to the make a wish foundation. Or to your local municipality for the purpose of planting a small garden (you'll feel like an idiot every time you pass your plaque.    Hmm why not buy a mini-laptop and then take a hamer and shmash it to peices (mybe therapuetic ???? ). or an ipod touch, or a blackberry, or a psp, or a _____ a dunno what kids watch their shmutz on anymore.

why not donate an ad on yeshiva world..that says it's donated by an ddict who couldn't stop. that's probbably the best idea.  Or put it in local papers. or priint your own "immitatiom" mishpacha magazine, entirely on this. or  hey why ot just give it to me!!!

or to simply see your money go-up in smoke, but accomplish something. buy hungry yeshiva bachurim,,, ako alot aot of take-out

I can only condone this kind of resolution if you set things up so that you avoid falling as if your very life depends on it (it does, but we often forget that).

Did you by any chance make this resolution right after a fall?

Bro, that's a great idea - but like a lot of people here pointed out, giving to people who hate jews is not.

It might help, but it's not really a good possibility to even think of.

I'm sure you can think of anotyher way to give away some mony in a way that won't make you happy.

He's right. Pich a diferent suggestion. and don't worry about matir neder, so much at lest, since it's probably mutar mitzad    masneh al mah shekatuv batorah.

Why not making adds thats say it's from an addict who couldn't help himself from looking at porn for ____ days.
Or use the money to BUY an ipod touch, from a yeshiva bachur! just don't pay him with anything that could be used for issur.  Mybe a gift-card or credit at dogies.     Not only will your donation stop this kid from looking at porn for a long time (till he gets a new one, which he probably won't) but by calling a large yeshiva, and personaly speaking to the mashgiach, you will impress upon him the reality of this addiction. oh and maKE SHURE HE KNOWS THAT YOUR KIDS ARE NOT in that ueshiva, so he won't suspect anyone for being YOU.

for what its worth, my therapist (who is a very frum man) suggested I do something similar like to Hamas. it cant be to something stupid because I will just say who cares. I could never fathom giving money to Hamas.

I havent dont it yet but toying with the idea.
