I requested to join a new group because my last group dropped the group idea and used google groups instead, which I was not comfortable using. I am getting nervous that people are giving out their email addresses on this group because I thought the idea was for group postings and not email.

At the time I made the request to join another group, I vowed to start posting again despite the hurt it has caused me in the past. By the time this group was formed, I am in better shape. When the time is right (hopefully never), I will share my story (again) and my struggles. Until then, I may honor the connotation of my handle.

I think one of the beautiful lessons of the anonymous forum is that when someone like me wants to get free of lust, it's earthly possible to do that without ruining my reputation in my community.

Joining an SA (sex anonymous) meeting in my community can have the same zero impact on my social standing as this anonymous forum, so if that's what's gonna fire my truck - why not

But some people prefer to hide behind veils of secrecy, and often have their reputations ruined in any case - so... each man to his own!

Personally I feel that GYE has helped me tremendously and I have grown very much since joining and using the anonymous tools. GYE's Whole spiel is to fight anonymous with anonymous, and that live meetings are for if previous methods failed. We are here trying (or tryin') to grow together in this new group and all the feedback is that live groups are needed to succeed. C'mon!

You only gonna hear that feedback if your sound acoustics aren't setup right - just kiddin'

As always 'whatever works'.

Of course it's not always easy to see when something isn't working. I have a soft spot for those who have been on GYE a long time, sometimes years, and still not sober. Clearly something's not working but it can be very hard to see that being inside it. I know that from experience. I was on GYE not sober for a long time (plus 2 years on a different forum before GYE) before I realised that I was going in circles.
