I wouldn't worry. A ban like this will without a doubt have plenty of Chareidishe Rabbonim who don't consider it manditory, leaving you with plenty of poskim who matir to choose from. :D

The following question is addressed primarily to the Guard.

[i]Lema'an Hashem, this new "ban" on Chareidi sites if taken literally applies to GYE also. I  don't know what  to do about it. Not
that I am worried about going to GYE, if the Guard keeps it going, but does that demonstrate that the rabbonim who signed it don't really understand what is going on regarding the internet. (Maybe that doesn't matter, because they find out facts as best they can and have Siyatoh Dishmayoh in their answers.)

Just a reminder that we're talking about an addiction, and GYE helps direct sick people to the appropriate medicine (for some, GYE itself may be the appropriate medicine).  It's safe to assume that no one is banning medical care for people who need it.
Just as an alcoholic needs to avoid that first sip, a lust addict needs to avoid that first slip.Slip today? No way! ;)Fall today? No way, Jose'!

Forgive me for saying this, but I think it's an Atzas Hayetzer to even bring this up.  Here's why: Someone much greater than our Gedolim, in fact INFINITELY greater than Moshe Rabbeinu has banned pornography, masturbation, and even worse activities.  A lot of good that did us!  If we can't heed the Ribbono Shel Olam's "Daas Torah," why are we becoming Frum all of a sudden?

We are not really getting frum here, what we want to know is will the GUE board be forced to shut itself down c"v.

I'll tell you how I know.  First, to my knowledge, every Rav who has found out about GYE is very impressed by it.  Second, there's a "Zeh l'Umas Zeh" in this world.  As Rav Yaakov Kamenetsky explains, when there was Nevuah in the world, there was Kishuf as well.  When we stopped having Neviim, Kishuf was no longer needed to create a balance in the world and give us Bechira.  When, IY"H, GYE becomes so successful that no one can imagine how anyone was ever Nichshal with p***, we may have something to worry about (ironically).  However, with shmutz in the U.S. raising more revenue than the budget of many countries, it's safe to say that GYE is not nearly on a level playing field with what it's up against, and that it's got a long way to go until it is.

This is a funny question. Kedusha is right.

Let me see if I can think of a parable that shows how ridiculous this is.

Health experts ban drugs that aren't authorized by the FDA. They ban even the homeopathic stuff that is known to work, because they are afraid that it can lead to dangerous illegal drugs as well.

Now there's a "GYE pill" that heals the effects of all the dangerous drugs. Should the health experts ban apply to the GYE pill as well?

If so, what are those who ignored the health experts original ban and fell into bad drugs supposed to do? The GYE pill is their only hope! Should we let them die because they ignored the original ban?

I could probably do better with my Moshol, but I'm tired. :

GYE is not "Chareidi" - it reaches out to all types of Jews.
