1. I don't know if this is what you had in mind when you were referring to a "line in the sand" but perhaps the "kabolos" can be "asei tov",  action variety to something positive in the area of GYE/shmiras eynayim and  shmiras habris..
Just a few suggestion maybe to read a "selection of the day" from the handbooks
Or make a kabbalah to post encouragement or pm chizuk to another member on the forum, everyday!
(As an aside I thank from the deepest parts of my heart to all those who have given me "chizuk"

Someone who kept having repeated falls recently made a red line that no matter what - no porn. In other words, if he feels he's falling - or gonna fall, he will not use stimulation to feed his addiction and lust - for 90 days. If he falls, it's only with his mind. That's an interesting first step for someone who's just starting out. I wonder if it's enough? But it surely counts for SOMETHING!

It is. It was my first step when I started out. It helped a great deal. The images start getting blurry in your mind, after a while, and you can't feed it with more..

Rebbe, I'm taking you're not responding to Noorah as a haskomoh. So I want to make a kaboloh in asei tov.

I find that I get too carried away with the big picture. In the past, my efforts to achieve simcha were concentrated on Emunah and Bitachon that it's all leading up to the Tikun Hashalem.

I now realize that some balance is in order. Yes this world is very dark and yes it's all leading up to Moshi'ach and we should keep davening our hearts out. BUT at the same time we need to appreciate what we have right now. We need to appreciate how valuable each mitzvah is by itself. The Gr'a says that the whole world would have been worth creating for just one single person to say Shma Yisroel one time. Every little bit of doing ratzon Hashem in this world is such a bombastic accomplishment, that nothing can outweigh it. Every time we are michazk one single person even a little bit, it's cause for great celebration. Every time we say no to the y"h we are accomlishing something that it's worth creating the whole world for. (Even if we c'v fall, it doesn't take away anything from the great accomplishment.)

So my kaboloh is to try (I hope and pray that I'll succeed) to make a chesbon hanefesh each night until Simchas Torah. That means to count at least 10 things that I accomplished that day בחמלת ד' עלי. (In truth we do hundreds of mitzvohs every day.) I would also like to count my worldly blessings but 1 thing at a time.

Rav Pam ztl  used to say to make kabbolos that are doable and realistic-not those earthshattering let's change the whole world stuff.

He said it's like you owe someone $10,000 and you cannot afford to pay it back.you simply do not have it.So you send in $100 every 2 weeks,consistantly and on time.This is very appreciated by the one who lends the money,if he is a decent person.He knows that this guy is struggling,he cannot pay the whole thing now,so he does his best and tries and by giving the $100 he is telling the rich man,look I respect you,I thank you,if I could I would give everything back now,I would,but I can't,but you see that I seroiusly plan to pay back every single penny.

The same is with Hashem.You owe him an endless amount.But you make a few small kabolos that you will keep.It could be small,like the $100,not the $10,000.and Hashem sees this and appreciates it.and he accepts this as a teshuva.
