Close Call

"Kedusha" shared:

In spite of my office's filter, I found myself least week on a website that allows you to perform searches that can lead to what, by Torah standards, is inappropriate material (I had seen the website mentioned in a legitimate article). Although for some people, the website has valid business uses, I had no reason to be there.

Out of curiosity, I typed in a certain search term, and the auto complete feature indicated that trouble was ahead if I completed the search. I took a deep breath, and repeated a few times to myself: "If I click 'search,' I'm toast!" Instead, to satisfy my curiosity, I typed in a few benign search terms and ran the searches. (Even benign searches are a bad idea, because you never know what's going to come up on the screen. But, being that, sof kol sof, the search terms were benign, it wasn't a very big deal.)

Anyway, Boruch Hashem I closed out of it before allowing myself to go on a very slippery slope, which would have been the end of 25+ months of sobriety.

In the past few days, various things happened which made me say to myself, "B"H I'm still clean. It would have been difficult to deal with this situation otherwise!" :)

Someone replied:

Thank you Kedusha. You have no idea how close I was to falling with my eyes again THIS VERY SECOND out of a curiousity search. B"H your share just saved me in the nick of time.

I'm gonna give it up to Hashem this instant, and get off the battle field.

THANX!! May H' always bless you!!
